Description

9m x 25mm Kinetic Recovery Rope.

WINCHMAX kinetic recovery ropes have been developed to provide a safer smoother method for recovering stranded vehicles out of mud, snow, sand, and other hostile terrain. Unlike traditional flat straps wire ropes or chains, kinetic recovery ropes will stretch and in doing so store the kinetic energy from the moving recovery vehicle to create a powerful pulling force far in excess of what the recovery vehicle could apply using a fixed tow rope and traction alone.

WINCHMAX Kinetic recovery ropes have two main features that make them superior to other recovery methods: their elasticity and their strength. WINCHMAX kinetic ropes have a superior elongation factor allowing them to stretch up to 30% of their original length, with a minimum breaking force (MBF) of 14,500kg, which means they will easily handle 4×4 vehicles and trucks up to 4500kg.

The benefits of using a WINCHMAX kinetic recovery rope are numerous. They prevent snatch loading which can cause catastrophic damage to anchor points/chassis and suspension. They are lightweight and easy to store and can work in any direction and angle.

Principle of operation:
Kinetic energy from the moving recovery vehicle is converted to potential energy in the stretched rope, this in turn applies a smooth and linear force to the stuck vehicle to facilitate its extraction.

Technique:
NOTE: THIS IS NOT A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE AND DOES NOT COVER THE ESSENTIAL SAFETY MEASURE THAT MUST BE TAKEN WHEN USING THIS PRODUCT

The Kinetic rope should be connected to both the stuck vehicle and the recovering vehicle to suitable load-bearing recovery points (soft shackle connections are ideal). The recovering vehicle then drives forward to take up the tension and stretch the rope at which point the stuck vehicle should attempt to drive in the direction of the recovering vehicle. The initial pull should be minimal and will allow an assessment of the forces likely to be required. If this does not extract the stuck vehicle the recovering vehicle should back up and repeat the process, each time with increasing forward momentum until the required extraction force is applied.

Features:

  • 9m x 25mm Kinetic Recovery Rope
  • Maximum Breaking Force (MBF) 14,500kg
